Sadly, I still struggled with it, mightily. I even put the book aside for a while and picked it back up in October hoping the ghostly theme would fit into my fall and Halloween frame of mind. But, the story, this time around, failed to draw me in. Morton’s prose is eloquent and often a thing of beauty. The writing, as always, is simply mesmerizing.
